Dear Friends and Cook-Off Teams

On behalf of the Gladewater Round Up Rodeo Association I would like to invite you and your Cook-Off Team to our 3rd Annual Gladewater Round Up Rodeo Cook-Off. The Cook-Off will be held Saturday June 2 2012 in Gladewater Texas. This will be the kick off weekend for the 75th Annual Gladewater Round Up Rodeo held June 6 7 8 & 9 2012. The Gladewater Round Up Rodeo Cook-Off proceeds benefit the local youth scholarship fund.

Enclosed you will find a copy of the Cook-Off Rules Awards and entry form. If you would like to be a part of our cook-off please make your check payable to Gladewater Round Up Rodeo Cook-Off and mail it and the entry form to the address below.

Official Rules

Registration

  • Entry fee for each space is $50.00 due at time of registration.
  • Team name and conduct must be appropriate for a family audience.
  • Registration includes 6 event wristbands for team members and additional wristbands can be purchased for $5.00.
  • A $25.00 fee will apply to all declined or NSF payments.

Cooking/Judging

  • Any food will be allowed. This is open for you to bring your famous recipes to delight the public.
  • Teams will furnish all ingredients for their recipe of choice.
  • Food must be cooked on site in a sanitary manner.
  • This will be a People's Choice contest only.
  • Food is to be served at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday and the judging will end at 1:00pm on Saturday.

Cooking Equipment Location

  • Pits shall not be located within 10 feet of combustible materials.

Awards

  • The awards ceremony will be held at the stage on Saturday at 2:00pm.

  • Reserve - Champion Reserve Champion Buckle 5 aprons Banner
  • 3rd place - Banner Gift Certificate and Gladewater Rodeo T-Shirts for crew
  • 4th place - Banner Gift Certificate and Gladewater Rodeo T-Shirts for crew
  • 5th place - Banner Gift Certificate and Gladewater Rodeo T-Shirts for crew

 

Administration

  • One team per pit.
  • The Cook-Off will be held at the Gladewater Rodeo Grounds Gladewater Texas.
  • Contestants must supply all needed equipment and supplies.
  • The Gladewater Round Up Rodeo and any Sponsors are not responsible for any theft or damages.
  • Decisions made by the Cook-Off Committee and Judges are final.
  • All teams must have paid their entry fee and check in and set up their spaces between 10:00am and 6:00pm on Friday June 1 2012.
  • Move out time will be any time after 3:00pm on Saturday June 2 2012. You are welcome to stay another night with notification to the Cook-Off Committee.
  • There will be trash cans and dumpsters available it will be the teams responsibility to keep their area clean and safe.
  • Each team will be allocated an approximate space (at least 40x40 feet). Props trailers motor vehicles tents etc. or any part of the contestant's equipment may not exceed the boundaries of the assigned space.
  • The chief cook will be held responsible for the conduct of their team and guests.
  • ALCOHOL will be allowed at your cook site. The location of the Cook-Off is in Upshur County which is a dry county. ALCOHOL SALES ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED. You may provide alcohol for free to anyone over the age of 21 years of age. Excessive use of alcoholic beverages may be grounds for disqualification and expulsion from the Gladewater Rodeo Grounds.
  • No rude or obnoxious behavior will be tolerated. We ask that you not blare your music and respect others request to turn it down. Music volumes should be kept to a minimum after 10:00pm.
  • Vehicles must fit in your assigned spot. For safety reasons no vehicles should move within the Cook-Off area after 10:00am Saturday morning.
  • Pets or other animals will NOT be allowed.
  • Failure to comply with the above measures may lead to disqualification and requests to leave the premises.
  • The Cook-Off Committee reserves the right to make additional rules and regulations as situations warrant.
